Carol Kron sent me some old pictures she found on her computer. I melted when I opened the email. Now he is 9 and a pain in my.....never mind. I just go back every once in a while and look at pictures like this to find my happy place. Thanks for the pictures Carol!

Lost and found

Andy lost another tooth-that makes 5!

Emily found out that she needed glasses and they finally arrived!

Never turn your back-

I got the kids started on some homemade Christmas gifts and ran into the house to do something.
I should know better by now!

Long time no blog.....

The trees are in the ground, the trees are in the ground, hi- ho- the- merry- o, the trees are in the ground!

HOW DO YOU GET 57 TREES INTO THE GROUND IN ONE DAY?

You rouse the troops-

You bring along a tree mascot-

You prepare the holes-

You have the kids paint signs-

You wake up that morning after a month of no sleep
(realizing that no amount of makeup will cover bags that size)
and get everything ready-

You welcome 400 plus volunteers-

And finally, you teach them the tree planting song:

"trees need people
people need trees
welcome(insert tree name here)"-

After the trees were in the ground, the "green team" went over to El Torito for a much deserved round of drinks (thanks Monica) and dinner. Whew, it was a lot of work, but sooooo worth it!

Emily was a pirate and Andy was a skeleton cowboy-

How to top last years birthday party?
With a rescued baby chick of course!
Someone found this cute little 4 day old chick in the road and brought it to me.
Charlie said "no way"!
I reminded him that my birthday was tomorrow and he caved.
I say he got off easy.

Girls vs Boys

In blogs past you have seen the eloquence with which my daughter writes.

It's a toss up between #'s 4, 6, 9 & 12.

Day one-

We saw Emily's 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Hagen, on the way to Hughes.

We are so lucky to have her as Andy's 3rd grade teacher too!

I got the hint and left, finally.
Luckily, with no tears.

Time-

I sit here tonight in disbelief.
Emily will start middle school tomorrow.
She was just a baby,
a cute one at that-

Then I blinked and she was weeks away from kindergarten-

Tonight I looked up on her bulletin board and spotted this,
her farewell to elementary school.

I'd laugh if I could just stop crying-

Taking advantage-

We have lived in Long Beach for 15 years and still have not enjoyed all there is to do in this great city.
We recently went to the bay and went kayaking with a bunch of friends.

Charlie and Andy head out.......

Cathy and I teamed up.......

Emily insisted on going solo.....

We had soooo much fun that Andy did not want it to end!
